Smartphones running FYI, broadcast a unique Bluetooth LE SSID that other phones on the same health network can detect. FYI does not broadcast the device name so when another phone is detected, it is only identified by its Bluetooth address.
In terms of data transmission and remote storage, FYI requires that the users on the network manually upload the data in case of a health red flag. This is the only instance when user location is transmitted to our servers for updating community health information available to the community administrator. Additionally, all user data is encrypted, locally stored on the user’s device and uploaded only upon the consent of the user.
FYI also has an inbuilt clean-up mechanism that automatically deletes all user data from the device every 21 days in case of no health red flags.
